In July 2021, GeoViet Consulting completed and transferred all deliverables of the project “The use of Drone for Monitoring Smallhoder Coffee Farms in Vietnam” to IFC and ACOM Vietnam, including 1,642 individual Farm Score Cards for 1,822 ha of coffee farms in Di Linh, Lam Ha, Da Lat and Lac Duong districts, Lam Dong province with detailed farm mapping information such as farm maps / vegetation index maps, farm size / production area, tree count and tree density, shade trees and weeds cover, slope gradient and erosion risks as well as crop health status (e.g., nutrient level or pest / disease attacks) during one-year crop cycle based on integrated GIS analysis of UAV imagery combining with field inspections. From July 2020, with technical support from the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA), GeoViet Consulting started implementing the IFC-funded project on “The use of Drone for Monitoring Smallhoder Coffee Farms in Vietnam (Lam Dong)”. The main project tasks include 12,000 ha RGB & multispectral UAV surveys for detailed mapping and crop inventory of about 1,995 ha of coffee farms (belong to 1,230 farmers within the ACOM/SMSi coffee product chain) in Di Linh, Lam Ha, Da Lat and Lac Duong districts in Lam Dong province as well as to monitor the crop health status during one-year crop cycle (e.g., until the end of June 2021) using UAV technology.
